Great Gift Idea!

If you are looking for a last minute gift for that saucy friend A SCENT OF SCANDAL has come to the rescue. A SCENT OF SCANDAL is a Los Angeles-based candle line created by brother and sister team Ari Solomon and Heather Brancaccio.

Like any scandal these candles are slightly offensive in a cute mild mannered way. The name and fragrance association are enough to make even the prudist chuckle.

The candles come in 8 oz. tins and are hand-poured from 100% soy wax with metal-free, all-cotton wicks. Their burn time is 30-35 hours. So they're not only long-lasting, but also good for you and the environment!

A SCENT OF SCANDAL products are vegan and cruelty-free. We're proud supporters of the important work of PETA, Farm Sanctuary, Sea Shepherd, and Compassionate Cooks.

A SCENT OF SCANDAL is available at Catch 22 $14.

Brand to Watch: Black Orchid

It looks like there's a new celebrity favorite in town-- Black Orchid. Black Orchid denim, launched in March 2008 and is the brainchild of designer Julien Jarmoune who, feeling like the market was saturated with ostentatious designs, decided to create an elegant "basic" jean that would appeal to women of all ages. The origins behind the name are interesting-the black orchid is considered rare and highly desirable, thought to have unique powers. The brand already has an A-list following, seen on the likes of Halle Berry, Marcia Cross, Jessica Alba, Kim Kardashian and Selena Gomez. These high-end jeans are luxurious yet affordable At $98 scoop yourself a pair asap at Catch 22.

We Love Dolman Sleeves!

A dolman sleeve is a type of sleeve with a very large armhole and tight cuff, and they are incredibly popular for sweaters, shawls, wraps and jackets this fall. They lend themselves to comfy knits and add Eastern-style drama to what would otherwise just be a snug way to bundle-up. Nothing wrong with bundling yourself in a cocoon of warmth during frigid temperatures, but it's nice not to look like a snowman, if possible, and that's where the dolman sleeve steps in, for us at least. We became converts to this trend last winter and love the modern-hippie-folkloric vibe they sort of give an outfit, and we highly recommend you give it a try. Finding the right silhouette for your body shape is key. While the dolman is an especially forgiving shape for large upper arms, they can swallow-up ladies with shorter torsos. Avoid turtleneck styles if you're petite, and pick thinner, drapey fabrics over chunky knits for a slimmer look. I usually layer mine over a long-sleeve, tight-fitting tissue tee that's the same hue but a different value than my dolman, ie. charcoal gray with light gray. And pick a narrow, fitted pant for your bottom half. The most current trend I'm loving is pairing your dolman sleeve top with skinny jeans or leggings and fab boots.Get your dose of dolman sleeves with one of these affordable, fashionable finds at Catch 22.

Bye. Bye. Bubble.

On a recent trip, I passed a chic maternity boutique followed, a door later, by a non-maternity boutique, surprise- the clothing displayed in the windows of each was nearly identical. The tent, the trapeze, the bubble, the baby doll—call these dresses what you will, the trendy shape that renders you, well absolutely shapeless. Such styles deliberately hide the body in a sea of fabric managing the bizarre feat of making women appear pregnant. In resolution many women have taken to wearing this style alarmingly short to attempt to uncover some sort of sexiness from wearing a dress the shape of a paper bag.
Those of you who are bored by it, for a big part those male, should take heart. Welcome Fall. Women’s clothing and the female body once again get intimate! We are not talking about the I love the 80’s bodysuits, or plunging necklines. Still, silhouettes will be longer, leaner; clothing will be fitted. Suits, jackets, and trousers have expelled the dress. Waists are visible. Breasts, while not exactly showcased will be detectable. At last, women will ditch the diapers of the baby-doll dress in favor of a sharper, slicker aesthetic.
